About 10,000 students are enrolled at the University of Ulm each semester. Apart from advice and support, the Student Union also offers a range of catering facilities. One of them is the Cafeteria SouthSide with a large outdoor terrace. It offers a panoramic view over the botanical garden and enjoys high popularity among students.

Eight square SCHATTELLO catering sunshades provide a welcoming cool shade on a hot summer’s day. Operated by a GEIGER tubular motor, the 5 x 5 m sunshades from MAY stand side by side and shadow a large part of the terrace area. The electric drive SOLIDline Parasol is inserted upright inside the shade mast and is specifically tailored to the SCHATTELLO sunshades. With 134 rpm, it provides a quick and easy opening/closing of the sunshade and is operated by radio remote control. A wind sensor and an integrated 3-second key lock against accidental operation provide additional safety.
