A good sun protection today must be able to do much more than before: modern glass architecture and strict energy requirements demand a great deal from material, planning and execution. It is important for specialist companies to keep up with the change - also through a good training of the junior staff. GEIGER is well aware of it.

"The issue of training has top priority at GEIGER. The rolling shutter and sun protection mechatronics specialist with its integrated training as an electrical engineer is very important for the industry" says General Manager Dr. Marc Natusch. The company moved from words to deeds and has for the first time trained an apprentice in the young profession of rolling shutter and sun protection mechatronic. René Christ finished his test as the third-best of his year and received a special prize for the best report.

Natusch emphasizes: “Good training is a top issue for the sun protection industry in order to follow the steady development in the drive and control technology. This allows the specialist companies to successfully integrate Smart Home into their service portfolio.”

2018, Rolf Meyer (r.) will hand over his function as instructor at the vocational schools to Alexander Otto (l.)

To contact the trainees directly in the vocational schools, GEIGER organizes a teaching program about transmission technology in each year. Rolf Maier, a rolling shutter and blind master builder, is also in charge of the final apprenticeship exam. The teacher function at the vocational schools will be taken over as from 2018 by Alexander Otto. The state-certified technician can rely on an extensive theoretical knowledge combined with practical experience in the sun protection area.

The 57th Main Conference of the Federal Association for Rolling Shutters and Sun Protection will take place from 27th till 29th of October at the Rust amusement park. For the first time, young sun protection mechatronics in training will participate to this event - a good chance to inspire the young generation for the specialist trade and to point out the prospects in this sector. "That is why we are happy to support the action of the guild Baden. We take all our 17 trainees with us „says Dr. Natusch. In addition, three external trainees received event tickets donated by GEIGER.
