Textile fabrics can be stretched and are vulnerable to strong and continuous mechanical stress. Therefore textile sun protection elements require drives that reduce as far as possible the tensile forces in the driving range and in the end positions. On the basis of the tubular motor SOLIDline, GEIGER supplies a wide range of specialized controls for awnings, screens, ZIP screens and parasols in order to provide you with the optimal drive for every requirement.

Safety, durability, easy installation and maintenance, convenient operation - as a quality-conscious manufacturer GEIGER sets highest standards in reliability and guarantees top quality for every single product that leaves our company. With specially developed technical systems, motors and controls are constantly being improved and are real specialists in their field.

To avoid damage, all drives are fitted with an obstacle detection system that is adapted to the respective sun protection elements. The SOLIDline Easy-ZIP with ZIP guide for screens stops immediately when encountering an obstacle in DOWN direction. In UP direction, thanks to the GEIGER Dual Stop Control, the sensitivity is significantly reduced to make sure that, in case of wind alarm, the screen can quickly reach the protected upper end position despite strong gusts of wind. The anti-freeze protection provides additional safety at low temperatures. The situation «hanging frozen to the window sill overnight» is recognized by the system and the hanging will not be damaged.

Other control systems also increase the safety for the user. For instance, the SOLIDline Parasol, the drive for large parasols in the outdoor catering area, first opens or closes the parasol after the control key has been pressed for at least three seconds. The risk of injury through the opening/closing of the parasol due to accidental operation is thus avoided.

Intelligent drives can increase significantly the durability of textile hangings. For this purpose GEIGER has developed various control options which can be used as needed. For instance, GEIGER awning motors are able to detect the position of the cloth during operation so that the closing power can be individually increased or decreased with the GEIGER Powertronic. An electronic driving range detection provides the motor with as much power as it really needs in each driving range. The locking power reduction has a similar effect: when closing the system, the motor power is reduced so that the cassette will close securely. Through the various control options, the mechanical stress on the fabric is reduced to a minimum. This also includes the fabric tension in the upper end position: The GEIGER Softposition does not stop the hanging via a torque-shutoff but automatically just before reaching the end position, thus avoiding permanent train on the fabric.

The Powertronic ensures that the cassette is always fully closed.

Closing force minimization

The closing force minimization prevents overstressing of the fabric, thus increasing the lifetime of the awning.

Plug & Play is the keyword for easy installation of the GEIGER drives. With automatically operating drives the tedious adjustment of the end positions is now definitely a thing of the past. The SOLIDline SoftPlus-Qi for cassette awnings ensures an extremely fast and efficient programming without setting cable: move to the lower end stop, adjust if necessary, move to the upper stop and switch off – that’s it. The customer may adjust himself the awning position at any time which also reduces service charges. The hanging length adjustment is maintenance-free on all drives for the textile sun protection.

GEIGER drives can be operated either via push button or conveniently and easily controlled via radio. The integration in a Smart Home control is possible. The new sun protection motor SOLIDline SoftZero-55 for facade awnings and screens provides even more comfort and safety.  Instead of the usual 16 cycles the motor operates with 55 revolutions and thus ensures a fast and safe shading. Especially in case of big-sized hangings, the time saving compared to conventional motors can be up to 60 percent. All motor functions such as obstacle detection, locking power reduction or driving range detection are adapted to the higher speed.
